The AiEd Certified Framework is our long-term roadmap, but the real magic is happening in your classrooms right now. AiEd Certified Spotlights are quick-fire features for these moments of brilliance - a simple way to share what’s working and inspire our community. Your school or college does not need to be enrolled on our certification programme to be featured.
We’re thrilled to share our first three Spotlights:
William Morris Sixth Form (College) - Hack Your Education book
Michael Salgueiral, a Politics and International Relations educator at William Morris Sixth Form, has shared his human-led approach to teaching and learning with AI in his book, Hack Your Education. The book provides practical guidance for students and staff to utilise AI ethically, moving beyond mere automation to spark effective prompting and genuine creativity. The impact is significant: students gain smarter revision strategies while staff reclaim vital time, reducing burnout without sacrificing academic integrity. By actively encouraging institutional sharing and discussion of his ideas, this project fosters a collaborative culture of knowledge-sharing. It ensures AI serves as a supportive co-pilot in "flying the flag for proper education."
Epsom and Ewell High School (Secondary) - AI in SEND
At BETT UK, the Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson MP grounded the conversation about AI in education in the day-to-day reality of school life. In her speech, she highlighted the work taking place in one of our Pathfinder schools, Epsom and Ewell High School, and Dawn, a longstanding Specialist Sign Support Teaching Assistant, and how staff have been trained to use AI safely, confidently and with professional judgement. This work isn’t about automation or replacing expertise. It’s about supporting experienced practitioners to adapt resources more quickly, personalise learning more effectively and respond to the needs of pupils with SEND - while keeping relationships, inclusion and belonging at the centre of the classroom.
Teddington School (Secondary) – International collaboration
Teddington School hosted an international delegation from the Netherlands and Estonia, showcasing their sophisticated integration of iPads, immersive digital spaces and AI-supported tools. This visit served as a high-impact knowledge exchange, demonstrating how Teddington’s use of technology-enhanced learning translates into tangible student engagement and creativity. By opening their doors to global peers, the school proved that their innovative, human-led approach is not just a local success, but a model for excellence on the international stage. It was a powerful example of how sharing "what works" can inspire pedagogical shifts across borders.
